Big changes are coming. As of Today this journal will no longer be free to the public. After discussing something with a classmate of mine I have decided to make this journal "Friends Only". Consider you all lucky to know me and be here ^_^ You are all the privileged few. I have also filtered everyone, this is no big deal I just felt like if I wanted to put up a university announcement the other people wouldn't care about that, so thats basically all that's there for. I don't expect to filter people often though.

Can't go to JACON on Saturday

Big Update: I can't go to JACON on Saturday. So i want pictures people, pictures. I might be able to go on Friday, but i'm not sure. I figured work wasn't going to schedule me for saturday, because well they never do. But I have to work on Saturday so that means no JACON.

Those of you with Digital Cable and even those without might be interested to hear what I found out the other day. One of the channels in the 300s is called "Anime on Demand" and another called "Adult Swim on Demand". The anime on demand is owned by Anime Network. Today I watched the first episode of DN Angel.

Making websites instead of homework

From Friday (I forgot to post this): I sat around and did almost nothing that I should have today. I'm thinking of doing most of it tomorrow. Heck, I don't get a lot fo time to myself around here, so I had to take advantage.

I need/want to get a new laptop b/c mine can't really handle much and i'm running out of GBs. So I found a new laptop with 80GB, mine has 30GB, I think that should be enough right? It's gonna cost me about $1,500. Not to bad but still.

I told my dad I wanted to get a tablet to draw with. I told him that the cheapest one was $89 and I was going to get that one. He told me to get the more expensive one which is like double that, but i told him I don't have the money to spend on that. Dad called me later today and said he would buy it for me. Mom is mad because she says "she" is technically paying for it. I would have been cool with myself buying the cheap one, but when parents offer to buy something, which is hardly ever, you don't turn them down.

Today: Started to teach myself CSS (Cascading style sheets). It's a type of programming language that lets you control what you site looks like. Those of you who have tryed to really customize your lj can understand. A CSS allows each page to look the same and you can add effects like scrollbar colors and such. Plus, I fianally moved my site over to freewebs.com which is so much better than geocities. CSS is great for people who know nothing about webpages. If a person makes them a layout in CSS all they have to do is edit the text. You don't have to know much coding because all the coding is seperate.

So anyway here is the link it be cool if you check it out and tell me what you think. Only certain links are working right now though.

Free work periods are too free

Ok so what i did today, hmm.

09:00 am Was on time for my class, that is just a work period. Finally decided what to do for my project in that class, yay. Spent most of the class period looking at new laptops online. Out of a 60 person class there was only 10 there anyway.

10:30 am Went to Production class and was finally given something to do. Most of the time did absolutely nothing b/c it was also a work period. So I just sat around and surfed the net.

12:00 pm Went to class and hoped to not get shushed by this guy in class for talking again. I hardly ever do it so i felt bad. Watched an Italian cartoon with naked women, gotta love the fact that the teacher is male.

01:30 pm Met mom at Publix on Alafaya for lunch. It has chinese food in it that is kinda like mall style. Actually pretty good. I had sweet and sour chicken and lo mein.

02:30 pm Decided to skip my 3 pm class because it too was a work class and i don't see any redeeming value in attending that class on a normal basis. My mom asked me if i would be counted absent and i told her i didn't even think the teacher knows what absence is. Thus, went to bookstore instead and got Fruits Basket vol 8. I also got a special CLAMP feature on CCS that came with these little limited chess figures. It's really cool. I'll have to post pics later.

04:00 pm Came home and read Fruits Basket and briefly looked at the CCS figures.

07:00 pm After dinner played Kingdom Hearts.

Currently Now writing this and thinking about all the stuff i gotta do this weekend. And how boring my day has been as far as classes. I probably would have had more done if i stayed at home.

Somedays I just want to rant

I know i've been MIA for awhile. School is nearing the end and let me put it bluntly, it's hell. I need to sign up for my classes today, but I need overrides for all of them, so i'm waiting on an e-mail that i probably wont get any time soon.

I watched the first Inuyasha movie last night and i've only seen the first hour of it. I need to finish it up tonight because I promised to return it tomorrow.

My to do list:
1. Write FMA paper for HoAF (due 4/19)
2. Come up with and make project for Creative class (due 4/19)
3. Come up with and create project for Media design class (due 4/21)
4. Attempt to make something other than cofee for Production group
5. ~~Do taxes (due 4/15)~~ <-- done as of 4/9
6. ~~Write a list of 25 possibilities for Creative class (due 4/7)~~ <-- done right after posting
7. ~~Make a resume (asap)~~ <-- done right after posting

BTW its still me, just plain me. Nothing else has changed in my life, the only recent event that has occured was that I got into the visual language program. And of course after finding that out, i was in this strange state for 4 days saying to myself, "I don't belong in it. I don't deserve it. There are plenty of better artists than me. I suck. They don't want me. I'll ge thrown out. They'll realize it was a big mistake. I just slipped through the cracks. I was never meant to do this." Then i remember the pressure of possibly being the first one in my family to go through a 4 year university, and then my mind starts spinning again about letting everyone on both sides of the family down, and how I wish I didn't have this pressure.

I wish sometimes I could just be the slacker. I want to be the kid that isn't expected to do good. I want to be the black sheep. I want to be the one that they don't expect anything special from. Guess what family, i'm not special. I just want to be left alone. I just want to be myself. I dont want to make a huge fuss over things. Leave me alone. Let me just be myself.

So i think my rant is over now.

01). Total volume of music files on my computer? Well about 100+ or so. I actually buy music on iTunes so you can imagine the cost. I try not to steal music but ocassionally get anime and game music online.

02). The last CD I bought was? Seether- "Disclaimer II" This is not a clean version, at first i thought it was though.

03). Song playing right now: Green Day - "Boulavard of Broken Dreams" Wondering when i will get tired of this song.

04). Five songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me (in no particular order):

1. 3 Doors Down - "Let Me Go" one of my favorite bands, heck i have alot of favs, but this song always reminds me of a manga that i'm reading and I can't wait for the anime footage so i can make it into an AMV.

2. Maria Carey and Whitney Houston - "When you Believe" I don't know why but I always love this song. It came out so long ago now and was the ending song for the movie The Prince of Egypt. I think this song just sometimes keeps up my spirits.

3. Linkin Park - "Somewhere I Belong" Again personally can relate to this song, so i usually listen to it multiple times when I put in this CD.

4. Seether and Amy Lee - "Broken" It's just a beautiful song.

5. "Inner Universe" - I couldn't forget to put anime and techno in here, so of'course I put a song that is both. I forgot the singer so if anyone can tell me i'll edit it in.

Happy Birthday sakura kinomoto!

Today i should be happy. I found out that I got into the Visual Language program but i'm not. BTW Visual Langauge is animation. I need to get a new computer, mine is a little out-dated. That's bye-bye to about $3000. I need to buy a tablet, not a necessity but would be most helpful. I had decided to quit my job, so now I have to actually do that, although it won't be till end of July. Then I also came to terms with the fact that I wont be going to the main-campus any more and I kind of miss that. Then i realized that i wont be seeing many of my friends any more. Well at least I can keep in touch with people by lj and AIM.

New Manga

I've really been in a slump today. I've just felt kinda depressed all day and I don't know why. Could be b/c I skipped my first class to study for a quiz in my next that got cancelled. Could be because I felt like I was being ignored by someone today. Could be because I still don't know if I got into the Visual Language program or not. Could be because i'm just overall confused with life and love in general.

To fix my slump I did what any good little geek would do, I spent money at the bookstore. I bought 4 manga, who knows why? I bought the last volume of Planet Ladder which was really thick. I read that already so that i'd be finished with it. Not too happy about the ending, but I thought that book wasn't really my style anyway, too boring for me. I bought another manga called The Flower of Deep Sleep which I have not got to yet. It's about a girl who can see the future before it happens and trys to fix it. I bought also 2 Amerimanga, american manga. I just wanted a taste of the american version. I got Peach Fuzz which was made by a local girl and is the cousin of a girl in one of my classes, so i thought that was cool. Even if it's good I don't plan to read anymore of her series. I also got Amazing Agent Luna which i think is very well done for an amerimanga. It was written by ppl who have worked on Kim Possible as well as the new X-Men series for Marvel comics. I might make a post about this manga sometimes cause it's kinda cute.

Well reading the manga has taken myself out of my slump for now. When does Star Wars Episode III come out?!

ETA: I just found out that I got into the Visual Language Program. One half of slump is over.

Happy Easter everyone! And if you don't celebrate Easter than Happy Spring.

Well what a day i've had. My brain is racing with thoughts and crap of what I have to do next week. Today i had to work and everyone was complaining about how we were open but Target wasn't. We had some major complainers. The store was actually very busy until about 3 or so. Usually it gets crazier after 3. Anyway so we will probably loose all our fish at work tomorrow b/c there is a problem with the filter system and the temperture gauge is actually cooling down. Frozen fish, frozen fish, anyone want one? My manager would have killed me for saying that. Actually if I get into the Animation, Visual Langauge for those of you who know, program then I plan to quit work. Yup, bye bye. I've been there far too long. Four and a half years I think will be enough. I'm gonna quit and just stick to school. But if I don't get in then i may still quit eventually but look for another job. Animals and the discounts are cool, but it's just getting stale.

As far as Easter stuff, i got a yellow peep basket with a box of marshmellow peeps. Then even more yellow marshmellow peeps. My mom got me some of those cadbury eggs, mmm, and a chocolate bunny. She also gave me a easter Spongebob that has sour candy inside. Last I got the Mulan II DVD. Not much into the Disney sequals but it is Mulan, so I can't wait to check it out.

View Poll: Anime Question, for people who like it and those who don't

My friend who is on Spring Break was meesing around and found this weise. That's that kid who killed all those people a few days ago. It only has a few entires but he's been a member since 03 so i think he just erased a lot of them.

I rented a game from Blockbuster today so that took up a lot of my time. I went to get my oil changed and I found out that I need to get something flushed out. So tomorrow i'm going back. It's gonna cost like $60 and they will charge $50 for labour. I think it's crazy $110. It's basically 50/50.

Today is my dad's birthday.

Yeah I was thinking earlier today, "I need to put that in my livejournal." But now I don't remember what that was.

Anyway I went out to the mall after school to get my dad presents for his birthday and prezies for me ^_^. I got him the 25th Anniversary of Pink Floyd's The Wall. I know he'll like that. I got myself some smelly stuff from B&BWorks and I finally got a game for my Nintendo DS. It's Pokemon Dash. Let you all know about it when I play it. I put games on hiatus right now, well at least anything that's not portable, so I can focus on school. I want to turn on the PS2, but I know it'll be hours gone by if I do that.

So i did my interview today. I think it went rather well but i'm actually more nervous now than before. I'm thinking about what happens if I don't get into the Visual Language degree, i'll be screwed. Well really i'll get stuck with something I don't want to really do in life. So i have to wait by the computer till next week for a confirmation e-mail. I register on wednesday, this is getting a little too close for comfort.

I also went to these two seminars at UCF today. One were people from EA Games and the other was a guy at Pixar. Both were very interesting. Basically EA is looking to hire kids after they get their BA in just about anything. They are looking for people with art, engineering, computer science and film degrees. Very interesting. They are planning on hiring 200 people a year.

Got this little thing from velvet_abyss. She has more here but they are all practically Fruits Basket ones. I told her she should make a community and people should make these, it be fun. I asked her if she could give me the font and she let me get it from her. So if you think it's cool i can make one for anyone. Anything you want i'll put on it.

First day back sigh

Ahh back in school today and I could not get into routine. I even almost fell asleep during my last class, but that's cause it's boring.

I'm all nervous because I have an interview for "Visual Language" degree tomorrow. I hope I get in, or else everything i've done will feel like i've done it for nothing. I guess I could always switch to "Internet Interaction" but it's not what I really want to do.

I'm excited because I found 2 FanFictions that I wrote on my computer and thought I had lost. One was extremly long and I re-read both of them. I think I wrote them 4 years ago and it really took me back. I enjoyed it. Neither is finished and i'd like to go over them and finish them when I have the time.

Guess what? I get to write a paper on an anime, TV or theatircal, for my class. Who's jealous? I told the teacher I might do it on Fullmetal Alchemist and he was all for it b/c he watches it too. My friend AJ really wants to do it and after I said I wanted to he decided to do something else. I feel like I should do something else so he can have it, afterall he said he wanted to do FMA first. He almost has all 51 episodes downloaded, I don't know but I think it's wrong to do that. Maybe i'll do mine on Tsubasa Chronicle. It comes out in 3 weeks, but I doubt i'll find a fansub of that in time.

Imadoki! by Yuu Watase

It's time again. Time for me to sum up one of my mangas that I have finished. I have just finished Imadoki!. My current count is 76 Manga: 6 series completed, 5 series still ongoing, two single volume manga, and 1 series that i don't think ADV is planning on finishing. I will have 1 series done as soon as I get the book, it's in stores now.

Status: Finished

Story:Imadoki! is the story of Tanpopo Yamazaki who moves to Tokyo to go to the elite Meio High School. Being a farm girl in a rich school environment is tough for her at first but Tanpopo is determined to make friends. She visits her school the day before she is to attend and runs into a boy who is planting a dandelion, tanpopo in japanese, at the school. The next day as Tanpopo is at school and runs into the boy again. This time he gives her the cold shoulder and pulls the dandelion out from the ground in frustration. At the opening ceremonies Tanpopo vows to become friends with the guy, named Koki. Tanpopo starts a gardening club to get even closer to Koki and gains some friends in the process. Overtime Tanpopo changes the snotty Meio Academy for the better.

Characters:
Tanpopo Yamazaki - main protagonist, she seems weak on the outside but on the inside is a very strong person.
Koki Kagyo - rich, his parents funded Meio Academy. He will one day rule his family's empire.
Tsukiko Saionji - comes from a wealty family, is determined to marry into a prestigious family, was once after marrying Koki.
Aoi "Flippy" Kyogoku - his mom is an architect who designed Meio Academy. Flippy is a computer wiz and has also been known to go crazy at times.
Arisa Uchimura - comes from a family of con-artists. She's really tough on the outside but a kind person on the inside. Becomes Tanpopo's friend after she finds out about her pregnancy.
Yoji Kagyo - Koki's older brother. Once was supposed to be next in-line for his family's empire but skipped out on his duties and ran away.
Erika Yanahara - Koki's fiance. She was told her whole life that she would marry Yoji and when he left Koki had to step in. She is cold and will stop at nothing to have Koki all to herself.

Review: Okay, the whole talk about flowers is enough to turn anyone away from this book, but the whole flower story is blended very well into it. The themes in this story are very strong and they cover some deep issues like alcohol, teen pregnancy, abortions, suicide, just to name a few. And the slowly evolving romance between Koki and Tanpopo is sooo cute.

Recommend: If you liked Marmalade Boy and/or Kare Kano: His and Her Circumstances then you would like this manga.

Overall I give this manga a 8.5, not the best but very cute. Short and sweet it works in it's own way.

Last day of Spring Break, technically.

Well not much goings on today. I went to the shoe store b/c I need shoes to go with this suit that I need for one of my classes. Then I went to borders to walk around. I found the manga that I want on a high shelf but was not in the mood to ask an associate to get it down for me. I got the guide for Kingdom Hearts and have looked through it but have decided to stay away from the game and get ready for school next week. I also bought this really cool poster at Borders. It's a Fruits Basket poster and is 3-d. It's so cool. Wish I could take a picture but it wouldn't be in 3-D lol. So you'll just have to imagine it, or come over and see it.

Between my 2 icon communities they had 21 icons. I was like wow.

A wet day at the happiest place on Earth

Let's see... this morning it rained... this afternoon it rained... this evening it rained... and currently it's still raining. Brooke and I decided to go to Magic Kingdom even though it was supposed to rain all day long. But it was good b/c we practically walked on to every ride. We waited no more than 25 minutes to get on a ride, that was the Winnie the Pooh ride. The only one we avoided was Splash Mountain b/c we had had enough of the wet.

We took one of the Disney buses over to one of the hotels, Pop Century Resort, and ate lunch there. For dinner we ate at the Cosmic Cafe, one of the best food places at MK I might add.

When we got on the Winnie the Pooh ride there was a guy that was sitting all by himself behind us. So I asked him if he was alone or where his friends were and he said that he worked there. Then he preceded to ask us where we were from and we said that we were from the area and go to UCF. Then he told us that we looked like we were in the 8th grade. He was kinda nice, but that pissed me and Brooke off a little. We told him our ages and when he found out Brooke was older than him he was in shock. He was nice but that comment made me upset.

Overall it wasn't that bad of a day. I got a Mulan pin thats really pretty and a ring that reminds me of a ring that a character in one of my writings had. It reminds me so much like it, that I just had to have it. We left a little early to avoid the drunks.

Today I had to stay home most of the day so that I could get a package. My friend Brooke and I figured that if I had to stay in maybe we could watch a movie. So right before we left the package arrived but we continued on with our plans. We went to Wal-Mart and bought The Incredibles becuase the price was most incredible there. Then we picked up food and went back to the house. After we ate my co-worker brought over the PS2 and we figured out how to hook it up. Then me and Brooke played the Kingdom Hearts game I had bought, but since I had not bought a memory card we had no way to save it. After that we watched the movie and she left. Later on in the evening I went out with my mom to do a little clothes shopping and I bought my memory card.

Problem w/ Kingdom Hearts: I think I have to go out and get the book already, either that or my game is flawed. I already got the two mushrooms Kairi asked for but she's saying I only have 1. It may be because I accidentaly picked it up during another test. So now it's not there and i'm screwed. Ok, so this is a little upsetting because I don't want to start over in order to fix it but if I have to I guess I will.

Now i'm finally going to do what i've been saying I was going to do for weeks. Sit down and watch some movies.

Today is White Day

Yay, to everyone who celebrated White Day! All my friends mean so much to me and i'm glad we are all there for each other. I was going to make everyone of my friends little goodies for White Day but it came up sooner than I expected.

Guess what?! I'm getting a PS2 tomorrow! I'm buying it from a co-worker who really needs the money. He's ony charging me $40 and giving me 3 games. The games will interest my dad more than me, so he can play them. I went to Target on my break and bought Kingdom Hearts so i'll have something to play. So yeah, you wont see me for the rest of Spring Break b/c i'll be glued to the PS2. Anyone got any ideas for any good games I might want to get? I was considering buying the FMA game.
